Why military veteran employer Heroes4Hire Handymen chose Northgate as their fleet provider
When Heroes4Hire Handymen - an organisation aiming to get military veterans back into employment - came to Northgate for their fleet, we were honoured to help this incredible cause.
Founded by ex-RAF veteran Nigel Blanchard, Heroes4Hire is comprised exclusively of former-Armed Forces employees who have been professionally retrained as handymen and women, giving a helping hand to those adjusting back to life outside of the military.
Nigel’s vision was to provide all their handymen and women with a fully-branded van six weeks after graduating from their training course. It was important to the Warrington-based business that vehicles had to be affordable from day one, as well as being of a high quality both visually and mechanically.
Nigel explained: “The vans are a massive part of our business and a great marketing tool. Having them on the street, we get customers phoning us up after seeing them and they want to know a bit about us. From that, we get jobs.”
Having looked at the marketplace for months, Nigel was attracted to Northgate due to the ‘one-stop shop operation’ offered – including the ability to quickly acquire vans with full livery as well as the reassurance of nationwide maintenance and servicing support on all vehicles, whenever it is required.
The minimum initial outlay required on Northgate’s flexible package has helped to reduce capital expenditure and with Heroes4Hire hoping to expand to 108 handymen by December 2017, the option of Telematics will help to improve efficiencies and simplify fleet management as the business grows.
As the Heroes4Hire brand increases its reach, Nigel feels he has found the right partner in Northgate.
He concluded: “Northgate are part of the family. They delivered exactly what they said they would from day one. We have a great relationship with them that seems to be going from strength to strength.”
